(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, AUG 24 – Some 301 young people were cited on Tuesday for participating in an illegal rave party near Bologna on August 1, sources said on Tuesday.
The people cited, including 22 minors, are accused of invading private land and buildings for rave in a former sugar factory in Argelato.
About 1,000 young people from all over Italy took part in the rave.
They have all been sanctioned for breaking COVID-19 safety rules.
Some 165 of them have a criminal record.
The quotes come after a massive illegal rave near Viterbo from August 13-19 that drew thousands of young people from across Europe and sparked criticism of Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese for an alleged lack maintenance of order.
A man died in a lake, four people were taken to hospital for alcohol poisoning, and a pusher was arrested in connection with the rave, which left piles of garbage and other waste in an area on horseback on the borders of Lazio and Tuscany.
Some rave people walked into a supermarket naked, scaring children and bending COVID rules. (ANSA).
