Home loans for qualified residents

The City’s Housing and Community Services Division assists residents of Eden Prairie with several types of home loan programs that offer zero interest, deferred and repayable loans. One of these First-Time Home Buyers, Emergency Elderly Repair, or Home Rehabilitation Loan programs might be right for you or someone you know.

Changes at the October meeting

The October 4 Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission meeting was canceled; the next meeting is scheduled for Monday November 1st.

The workshop and city council meeting on October 5 have been canceled. The October 19 workshop and city council meeting have been postponed to Tuesday October 26.

The October 11 Planning Commission meeting was canceled; the next meeting is scheduled for Monday 25 October.

Fall in shape

At Saturday October 9 8 a.m. to noon at the community center, participate in sample classes of new group fitness offerings, tour state-of-the-art facilities, meet instructors and much more. During the Fall into Fitness event, the registration fee for new members is waived. Tours are available every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Open day throughout the city

Come to the open-air citywide open day Saturday October 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the City Center. Get up close and personal with what it takes to run a city of nearly 65,000 people and 3,000 businesses. Highlights include exhibits, demonstrations, City vehicles and equipment, and more.

Halloween harvest at the barn

Attend this year’s free fall and Halloween event which is fun for the whole family. At Saturday October 16 at Riley Lake Park from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be pumpkin decorations, family activities and games, a storytelling walk, scavenger hunt and barn dance after dark .

Not so scary nature trail

Sign up for the outdoor centre’s not-so-scary nature trail and learn about all the not-so-scary things associated with Halloween. This educational event is Saturday October 30 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Outdoor Center. Arrive anytime during your 30-minute time slot to begin your adventure. Hike the lantern-lit trail and see bats, owls, snakes, eagles, and more while collecting a Halloween treat at each station. Registration required.
