Latroit partners with L-Acoustics Creations to mix ‘Dance My Tears Away’ remix into spatial audio
Spatial sound is the latest tech craze to hit the music industry. Allowing listeners to determine where the sound is coming from, it essentially gives a sense of space that goes beyond the usual audio that people have always listened to. Now L-Acoustics and producer Latroit have teamed up to use spatial audio in a special way.
L-Acoustics is the forward-thinking company that is a leader in the design and manufacture of premium sound systems for live events. Their client list is seemingly endless, but includes major titans of live events such as Tomorrow, Ubbi Dubbi and Roll hard, and also for artists like ODESZA, Tiësto, David Guetta and many other leaders in the electronic scene and beyond. Always innovating their designs and technology to stay one step ahead, in 2011 they formed a research team that would study the possibility of introducing spatial audio at events. In 2016, they introduced Immersive hyperrealistic sound L-ISA technology that offers many possibilities not only to artists, but also to listeners and fans. Since its inception, L-ISA has reached around 12 million people in all corners of the world, also being used in 6000 productions. Now this technology is spreading into the studio, where the Grammy-winning producer Latroit and Jason bentley, THE radio personality and Secret technology owner of the imprint, have dived directly into the immersive possibilities.
Latroit and Bentley were introduced to L-ISA technology by a mutual friend, who believed his sound would match that technology perfectly, which obviously turned out to be true. The track, a remix of ‘Dance your tears’ de Latroit, starring Australian artist Charlz, was mixed at L-Acoustics headquarters where a short video documenting the experience was also shot, released with the track. “Dance My Tears Away” was remixed in 18.1, along with binaural output, and was released for enhanced listening with headphones or earphones. The track itself is a perfect anthem for post-pandemic life, where the dancefloors begin to open up again. About the track, Latroit says:
“This song brought me back to music. After taking a little while, I found myself recalling a collection of unreleased demos I had with Charlz. These lyrics touched me intensely at the time, and it became a mission for me to bring this message to life with the best production I could muster.
Moving through the music industry and rising through the ranks, the composer and artist has found success with selling gold, platinum and double platinum records with multiple Billboard hits and countless TV placements. and in the cinema. As part of the Detroit techno group Downtown, Latroit’s expertise, knowledge and achievements throughout his career are substantial and lasting.
Proving that the new era of mixing has arrived, Latroit and L-ISA and Latroit form a dynamic and powerful team. With an irresistible production released on Jason Bentley’s Secret Technology imprint and mixed with impeccable technology to achieve the best possible sound, this is certainly a must-have production with an interesting story behind it.
