Spotify has partnered with smart lighting integration experts at Philips Hue to bring users a whole new integration that will help bring your music to life. Starting today, users will be able to link their Spotify accounts to their colored lights for better dancing lights experience.
Earlier this week, the companies announced their partnership and pledged to deliver a unique experience for Spotify and Philips Hue users. While you can already make your Philips Hue lights dance to music through the Hue Sync application on PC and Mac, this new integration works differently.
Now, when you link your Spotify and Philips Hue accounts, the Philips Hue app can access the music you listen to on any device. From there, it uses AI to extract the song’s metadata and create a unique and immersive lighting experience for each song.
The integration not only reads the beat and beat of a song, but also assesses the genre and mood when creating a light show. You can use the Philips Hue app to adjust things like brightness, intensity, and color scheme.
The new integration is starting to roll out to everyone now, but you can actually prepare for early access now.
There are, however, a few requirements. Of course you will need Philips Hue compatible lights, but you also need a Square Hue Bridge. Then all you need is a Spotify account and a speaker to play with, and you’ll be ready for your own personal rave.
Just a warning, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here to find out more.
