Carnage’s arrival in Venom 2 doesn’t mean everything will be pessimistic, as a new teaser shows Tom Hardy’s symbiote partying at a rave.

A new teaser for Venom: let there be carnage finds the titular symbiote in a rave having fun. The sequel to the surprise hit of 2018 Venom was originally slated to premiere in theaters last year, but the coronavirus pandemic pushed it back to 2021. After some additional date adjustments and rumors of a possible move to 2022, Venom: let there be carnage will debut next weekend following positive feedback from fans. After the resounding success of Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, Sony’s film has a good chance of scoring decent box office numbers.

Directed by Andy Serkis, Venom: let there be carnage picks up about a year and a half after the first movie and finds Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) still adjusting to life with a bloodthirsty symbiote inside his body. The emergence of another more fearsome symbiote named Carnage causes trouble for the unlikely couple, especially when they pick serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) as their host. Venom: let there be carnage also stars Michelle Williams as Anne Weying and Naomie Harris as Shriek.

Within days of its release, most of the teasers of Venom: let there be carnage focus on images that fans have seen before. However, the latest one to be shared online reveals a rather interesting snapshot: Venom in a rave. Decked out in neon necklaces and bracelets, the symbiote looks like the king of the party. One of the best parts of the first movie was Venom’s dumber nature, which manifested itself in couple fights with Eddie and a desire to eat human snacks. Partying at a rave takes it a step further, indicating that Serkis may be looking into the things fans loved the most Venom. With Let there be carnage when digging into a meaner symbiote, it’s normal for the hero of the story to have fun.

Venom: let there be carnage Looks like it’s going to play into the weird couple dynamic between Venom and Eddie in so many ways. Because Venom lives in Eddie’s body, one has to wonder how he got the cranky reporter to venture into a club. Among all the destruction caused by Carnage, Venom 2 will always feature humorous moments for fans. I just hope Serkis manages to balance all of this perfectly. Venom: let there be carnage finally arrives in theaters on October 1.
