Wegman Design Group, one of Southwest Florida’s most respected and creative interior design companies, recently completed a project with incredible results, the Social Room, Boardroom and Lobby. a luxury condominium skyscraper in Naples, The Esplanade Club.
The high-rise tower, with 121 residences, is located on the gulf in the Park Shore neighborhood and has been reshaped over the ears with a progressive approach by Wegman Design Group into a timeless contemporary design.
“The previous aesthetic redesign of the lobby, meeting room and social room of the Esplanade Club dates back almost 15 years,” noted Loren Wegman, design director of Wegman Design Group.
The building design committee initially thought the project should include new furniture and some hardware upgrades, but after a discussion of how the owners really wanted to use the space, they made the decision to support a transformation. complete renovation. This would include minor work in the lobby and boardroom and a larger social room remodel.
“The goal of our design team was to create attractive social spaces for a multitude of activities – from formal dinners to impromptu card games – and gatherings for sporting events and meetings to the sequestered pleasure of an individual,” all with the support of the existing full-service kitchen which has been slightly reworked, ”Wegman said.
The new finish pallet in the social room is upscale, yet relaxed, featuring custom European white oak ceiling planks in the tray ceiling and custom bar base cabinets, full-height loaner bookcase, and low compartments for audio / visual equipment.
The space has three main areas all open to each other to allow and view the patios facing the Gulf. A striking gray-veined white quartz slab has become a strong statement material and also wraps around the focal wall that frames the TV and fireplace.
The same stunning material becomes wall art on the serving counter as well as the top surface of a custom 12 foot wide premium party table. Gold accents, a bronze mirror, and sculptural decorative lighting have also been added.
Horizontal revelations add dimension to the few walls in the room and help create the illusion of a larger space. A tanned mirror on the sides of the bar and pool room also helps bounce the glow from the pendants and cove lighting.
At the foyer, an asymmetric integrated planter with Kuwa branches, pebbles and metallic wall cladding creates a wonderful blend of man-made and natural materials.
All of the beautiful renovations that have taken place at the Esplanade Club have received rave reviews from the residents of the tower. But the distinctions did not end there. During the weekend of September 18, the ASID Florida South’s Design Excellence Awards awarded The Esplanade Club first prize in the “Common Space Reception Design” category.
In addition to The Esplanade Club, Wegman Design Group was also selected for another high rise project in Naples – the St. Kitts in Pelican Bay.
Wegman’s main responsibilities will include the renovation of the tower social and fitness room, as well as the improvement and additions to the St. Kitts pool and terrace.
The finishes of the new Social Room will complement the Lobby Design, which was renovated in 2012.
The goal of the renovation is to improve the flexibility of the social hall, allowing it to be used for more activities, including larger events, residents’ parties, small meetings, entertainment venues, card games and board meetings throughout the year.
This will be achieved in part by relocating the kitchen and creating a separate bar area and a large living room in the center of the room. New entertainment technologies will also be added in a number of locations.
Additional work to include fencing existing balconies and expanding a new balcony overlooking the pool, effectively placing new lounge chairs around the pool, in its solar shelf and near the amenity area foyer, as well as improvement of the floor and walls of the new fitness area.
The renovation project in St. Kitts is underway and is expected to be completed in December, just before the start of the 2022 season.
