Panaji: The Cordelia cruise ship, where 66 of them and more than 2,000 people on board have tested positive for the coronavirus, was returned to Mumbai from Goa with all passengers after some of those infected refused to be admitted to a medical facility in the coastal state, a maritime agency official said on Tuesday.
Infected passengers would be isolated on the ship, he said.
As many as 66 of the more than 2,000 people aboard the Cordelia cruise ship, which arrived in Goa from Mumbai, have tested positive for COVID-19, state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Monday. .

Testing of people on the ship was made necessary after a crew member was found infected with the coronavirus on Sunday, an official said.
The ship was dismissed at 11:30 p.m. on Monday after 27 passengers, who had tested positive, refused to disembark, Govind Pernulkar, operations manager, JM Baxi and Co, a local shipping agent, told PTI.
The ship had to be fired after some of the passengers who tested positive refused to be admitted to a COVID-19 facility in Goa. Only six crew members out of a total of 66 who had tested positive were disembarked in Goa, he said.
Pernulkar said that after reviewing the situation, the South Goa District Administration ordered the ship and all passengers to be returned to Mumbai.
Passengers who were transferred to an isolation facility were also returned to the ship before it left for Mumbai. Coronavirus-positive passengers would be isolated on the ship, he said.
Some of the infected people who refused to leave the ship were traveling with their families, he said, adding that a few family members had tested negative for the viral infection.
The ship is expected to reach Mumbai by Tuesday afternoon, he added.
