7 Best Artificial Christmas Trees, According to Top Rave Reviews

women’s health

For years, my husband and I have been packing our three children in our station wagon every December to drive to the local nursery where, after many arguments and debates, (“it’s too short”, “it’s too lean”), we tie our freshly cut tree to the roof of our car.

It was only after a series of unfortunate events that our fondness for the ‘real’ started to lose its appeal – including the time when our booth leaked water under the tree skirt and ended up damaging a lot of the hardwood floor in our living room – which we started gazing at an artificial tree. Guilt aside, our family recently decided to take the plunge and purchase a faux tree online, quickly realizing all the benefits it had to offer.

Take a look at some of the best realistic-looking artificial trees below:

It would save us money in the long run, there was no need to water every night and there was no need to vacuum pine needles (the ones I would keep finding in the floors for months after the holidays were over), and there were no droopy branches (so no broken ornaments). Plus, we’ve all been blessed with cleaner air – unlike live trees, artificial trees don’t contain allergens like mold or moss.

Even better? Our kids agree that the fake tree looked just as realistic and authentic as our old live trees. It even smelled about the same thanks to the pine-scented ornaments I placed on the branches.

Trust that you will also become a convert soon enough. Ahead, check out the top-rated and best-reviewed artificial trees to consider in 2022.

Tips before buying:

  • Measure the height and diameter of your intended room to make sure the tree will fit.
  • Artificial trees are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE) or a mixture of the two. Higher quality shafts have more of a PE composition – they will also cost you more.
  • Leave a minimum of 6 in. to 1.5 ft between your ceiling and the top of your tree.
  • Allow 3 to 6 inches between the tree and the walls.
  • Consider where the tree will live out of season as you will need a dry place to store it.
