Bombay, October 3 (IANS): Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood mega-star Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday for consuming, selling and buying drugs after a rave party broke out on board of a luxury cruise liner. .
Aryan and seven other youths were taken into custody by the BCN and then formally arrested.
Initially, Aryan and two others – Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant – were arrested, and the trio were brought before the Esplanade Magistrates’ Court, amid tight security, late Sunday and sent to the custody of the BCN for a day until Monday, a lawsuit the lawyer told media.
Indicted under various articles of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act, they will be brought back to court on Monday for their custody, even as their legal team, including Aryan Khan‘s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde , plans to challenge the action of the PNE in Bombay. High Court Monday.
The other BCN detainees – Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Vikrant Chhokar and Gomit Chopra, were subsequently arrested.
They will be brought before a district court after having undergone their pre-trial detention medical examinations.
Earlier, NCB Superintendent VV Singh, in his arrest note, said Aryan Khan was arrested under NDPS for his “involvement in the consumption, sale and purchase of contraband” ( drugs) with other known and unknown people.
The arrest was made in connection with the seizure of 13 g of cocaine, 5 g of MD, 21 g of charas and 22 pills of MDMA, with a total value of Rs 1,33,000.
Aryan Khan, 23, admitted and said he understood the reasons for his arrest and had informed his family.
The star son and the others had been held by BCN since morning.
The action came after the NCB descended on the luxury vessel Cordelia Cruises on Saturday evening as it prepared for a planned trip between Mumbai and Goa, shocking people, especially in the entertainment industry.
