Even the competition raves about Elijah Moore’s performance on Sunday afternoon.
The Jets rookie caught eight passes for 141 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins. Gang Green lost the game 24-17, but Moore’s career day was widely praised by his teammates and opponents.
“He’s going to be special in this league”, Dolphins CB Xavien Howard noted. âHe’s a shorter guy, a quick guy. He made some tough catches there and I respect his game.
Robert Saleh said much the same about Moore, whose touchdown came on a 62-yard reception that required elusive speed. âIt will only get better,â Saleh said. âHe’s going to be a special kid.
Moore, meanwhile, had just as much appreciation for Howard, one of the best ballhawks in the NFL.
âI’ve been watching him for a while. It’s a great corner, he’s a great player. And I’ll take it and run with it if someone special tells me, âMoore noted. “Great respect.”

A second-round pick, Moore has scored five touchdowns in his last five games with 25 catches and 349 yards. He became the focal point of New York’s passing attack after a slow start to his first NFL season.
He’ll have another chance to face Howard and the Dolphins when the Jets travel to Miami in Week 15.
