SAN ANGELO – October is finally here, bringing an array of fall and Halloween events to the San Angelo area, from the mildest to the spookiest. Here’s a look at where you can get your tips, treats, and fun in this spooky season.

IN PROGRESS

Circle S Corn Maze and Pumpkin Square

When: October 1-31. Hours are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Or: Circle S Corn Maze and Pumpkin, 7305 Bean Road in the wall.

Cost: Admission to the Corn Maze is $ 8 for adults and $ 5 for children over 2 years old. Children 2 and under enter for free.

Other: Besides an impressive corn maze, there will be a pumpkin patch, a corn cannon, and other activities. For more information, see circlesacres.com.

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Angelo Civic Theater

What: The Angelo Civic Theater will perform “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, a spooky classic involving love, jealously, Ichabod Crane and the infamous Headless Horseman.

When: From October 8 to 17, Friday to Sunday. The shows on Friday and Saturday are at 7:30 p.m., then at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Haunted attractions

Fort Concho after dark

When: 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 15 and 23.

Or: Fort Concho, 630 S. Oakes St.

Cost: $ 8 for the general public, $ 6 for members of the fort.

Other: This is an evening tour where guides delve into the haunting history of the fort and the spirits that haunt it.

Fort Concho Night of dread

When: 7 p.m. on October 29 and 30.

Or: Fort Concho, 630 S. Oakes St.

Cost: Tickets can be purchased early for $ 8 at the Barracks 1 Visitor Center, or on cash payment days.

Other: Children under 6 enter for free, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Haunted corn maze in the wall

When: Oct 22-23 and 29-30 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Cost: $ 20

Other: Tickets will be time slot tickets for every half hour and sold only online. Buy tickets at circlesacres.ticketleap.com/haunted-corn-maze-2021. You must arrive at the time indicated on your ticket. This is a fundraising event for the San Angelo Broadway Academy.

HalloScream at the Haunted Olde Park Hotel

When: 7:30 p.m. – 1 a.m. Oct. 29 and 30

Or: The Haunted Olde Park Hotel, 107 S. 6th St. in Ballinger.

Cost: $ 10. If you buy in advance online at oldeparkhotel.com, you can skip the line. Tickets will also be sold on the same day at the door.

Other: The Haunted Olde Park Hotel has been featured on several podcasts and paranormal shows, including Fright Club on Discovery + with the Ghost Brothers and Jack Osbourne.

Fear station at the railway museum

When: From 8 p.m. to midnight Tuesday to Sunday until October 15-31. Closed on Mondays.

Or: The Railway Museum, 703 S. Chadbourne St.

Cost: $ 15 per person, $ 10 for students, military and seniors.

Other: Tickets can be purchased online at sanangelorailway.org. This is the first year of the event, which has benefited from the help of Shelby Bond, a producer, writer and comedian from Los Angeles.

FESTIVALS

Oktoberfest

What: Oktoberfest, a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America at the Texas Southwest Council, will feature German food, contests, a photo booth and more family entertainment.

When: 5 p.m. on October 1.

Harvest festival

What: This harvest festival hosted by the United Methodist Church of Sierra Vista will raise funds for the Children’s Advocacy Center, Meals for the Elderly, Project Dignidad and the Texas Ramp Project. There will also be a square of pumpkins.

Craft beer festival

What: The Craft Brew Fest is a festival for beer enthusiasts and makers, hosted by 4R Broadcasting.

Oktoberfiesta

What: This is a fundraiser for the Angelo Catholic School. There will be takeout brisket and sausage platters and a raffle.

Dia de los Muertos

What: There will be a public altar, an opening ceremony by Bishop Michael Sis, shows, shopping, an outdoor screening of “CoCo”, food, contests, free workshops and more. This is presented by the Hispanic Heritage Museum and Cultural Center of San Angelo.

When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 29 and from 11 a.m. on October 30.

Or: San Angelo Art Museum, Bill Aylor Memorial River Stage, and Bart Dewitt Park.

Dia De Los Muertos neighborhood party

What: There will be an ofrenda, music, balloon release, the Disney movie “Coco” and more.

When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 30.

TRUNK-OR-TREATS AND HALLOWEEN PARTIES

23 october

Trunk-or-Treat by Xertz Coffee, is set from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 3540 Knickerbocker Road.

Halloween costume party by Cricket Wireless, 3315 Sherwood Way, is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 23. There will be food, games, candy, gifts and more. This event will raise funds for the National MS Society.

Saturday Spook Night, hosted by the CLFE network, is set from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kirby Park, 1401 Edmund Blvd. There will be a costume contest, movies, trunk or treat, food and an auto show. Information: 325-301-0330.

October 28

Strong walk downtown: The Fall Halloween Festival will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 28 in downtown Montreal. People should wear Halloween costumes to make treats downtown. Some places will have festival games.

Halloween at the Y is 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 28 at the YMCA, 353 S. Randolph St.

Parents evening costume is set from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Team Chip Martial Arts, 3516 Knickerbocker Road. There will be food, games, a movie and a dance party for the kids. Cost: $ 35 for the first child, $ 20 for siblings.

Halloween dance with Southern Comfort Band is scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m. on October 30 at VFW, 123 S. Browning St. Cost: $ 10. Information: 325-655-6550.

October 31

Hallow Fest is set from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Ballinger Community Center. There will also be a trunk or treat downtown on 8th Street.

OTHER EVENTS

October 13

Fall Door Hanger Paint Party is set from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Old Central Firehouse Pizzeria and Taproom, 200 S. Magdalen St. Register at crackedgeginger.com. Cost: $ 40.

October 16

Fall market at Old Central Firehouse, 200 S. Magdalen St., is scheduled for October 16 from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be several sellers.

20 october

Pumpkin painting starts at 5:00 pm Oct. 20 at Old Central Firehouse Pizzeria & Taproom, 200 S. Magdalen St. Cost: $ 20 for a one topping pizza and a personal size pumpkin and paint. Add an extra pumpkin for $ 6.

November 5-6

Murder in Fort Concho is set from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 5 and 6 at Fort Concho, 630 S. Oakes St. This is similar to a murder mystery event, and tickets can be purchased prior to the day or day of the event. Tickets will be offered at specific times.
