Orwellian nightmare comes true
In 1949, George Orwell published a book called “Nineteen Eighty-Four”. I bought the book in 1950 when I was 18. I read the book three times. Even though it made my hair quiver, I knew it was fiction and treated it as such. Now I watch what happens and wonder if maybe the book wasn’t fictional, but true.
In the United States, the people have always elected their representatives to government. Now one of the parties, the Republican Party, seems to be saying that this is the wrong way to run a government. I hear them say that if someone from their party is not elected, they have the right to reject the result and replace it with a vote they prefer. They also seem to be saying that a large number of voters should not be allowed to vote because they did not vote in the previous election, or that they could not vote because they did. makes a mistake when filling out the voting forms, or worse yet, because they have the wrong skin color.
How can we change this? I’m not sure we can. Members of the Republican Party in our government seem to have decided that they should only vote in a way that will help their party. If they do not follow the party leaders, they can be removed from the party.
The only way to stop them I see is to vote ourselves, convince as many people as possible to vote with us, get out and help the people who can’t get to the polling stations that are too far away to get to and whenever you hear someone telling lies about voting, call them up and tell them the truth. Hopefully the truth will indeed keep us free!

Unruly students disrupt restaurant
This letter is addressed to the parents of the children at Pine Ridge Middle School. I stopped at Dunkin ‘Donuts in the Mission Square shopping district near your children’s school and saw a sign in their window that said “Drive Thru Only 3:45 – 5:00 PM We can’t control young students anymore who destroy our restaurant and have no manners. Our team has been pushed to the brink. Sorry for the inconvenience caused to our loyal customers. ” Parents at Pine Ridge Middle School need to step back and reassess why your kids don’t respect others and their hard work in this world Shame on you for not teaching them the right way to treat others.

The drone strike met the silence, the lies
It seems, surprisingly, that the gang of white men who planned, plotted, and then carried out the bombardment of 10 innocent brown people are, with the help of the editors of The News-Press, going away as if this had never happened. Joe Biden and his Keystone Cops launched an infernal missile using the best technology in the world, and he ended the lives of seven innocent children and three adults, including an aid worker.
What happened next is almost as bad: They all lied about it. Milley even got behind a microphone and said it was a “fair shot”. Everything is filmed. It’s a fact. Yet The News-Press doesn’t even care to voice its opinion on these events, to forget someone else’s opinions. One can only guess why the editors of The News-Press chose to remain silent on these murders. Maybe if they keep attacking Republicans, no one will remember Biden bombing a bunch of innocent children.
I suspect their parents, friends, relatives and neighbors will remember it. It is even possible that some develop a deep and murderous hatred towards the people who bombed their children to death, and the people who lied about it and covered it up. Can you blame them?

Right-wing inconsistency, misinformation
It seems that lately there have been quite a few letters in the mailbag from Trump and right-wing fans complaining that there is a bias in favor of left-wing letters. You only have to read the mailbag to understand why. The letters on the left are always more thoughtful, intelligent and rational. Where the right-wing trumplicans and letters for the most part are blasting and raving and telling you how awesome Trump was and the untruths and disinformation about Biden they get from Fox News and other far-right media .

What is the fair share of taxes for the rich?
What is the fair share of income taxes for the rich?
The latest available statistics are based on 2018. In that year (according to data from the Tax Foundation), the richest 1% paid 40% federal income tax and the richest five percent paid paid 60% of federal income tax paid by individuals. The bottom 50 percent of citizens paid 3 percent of federal income tax paid by individuals.
Some politicians keep saying that the rich must pay their fair share!
What is the fair share?
