Valley Forge’s Revolutionary 5-Mile Race: registration is now open and runners and walkers from all over the world are invited to participate. Hosted by the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB), event options include an in-person 5-mile run or 3-mile walk at Valley Forge National Historic Park on Sunday, April 24, and a virtual 5-mile run miles that can be completed anywhere during National Parks Week, April 16-24. The cost of the event ranges from $35 to $45 with an option to make personal donations. All proceeds from the event benefit Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Delaware County Victim Assistance Center: (formerly known as Delaware County Women Against Rape) has been providing services to victims of sexual assault and their loved ones since 1974. The non-profit organization depends on the support of our volunteers to help us meet the needs of our customers 24 -hours a day. Victim services include accompaniment to hospital/police interviews and telephone crisis intervention. Volunteers receive 40 hours of training to prepare them for their responsibilities and are asked to provide support at least twice a month for an evening or weekend shift. Delaware County Victim Assistance Center: (formerly known as Delaware County Women Against Rape) offers free, confidential counseling in person and through our 24-hour hotline to victims of sexual assault. The agency provides medical, police and legal support. DCVAC also runs support groups for adult survivors of sexual abuse, adult survivors of rape, and teenage survivors of sexual assault. Drexel University Academy of Natural Sciences: celebrates the Year of Water in 2022 with a series of special exhibits aimed at helping people better understand the critical role of rivers and oceans and how the actions of everyone on earth affect the watershed system. Arden Theatre: Originally scheduled for March 2020, The Arden Theater Company’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire held only one public performance before the company closed due to the COVID pandemic. Now, this magnificent production will return to open Arden’s Mainstage 2022 season as the F. Otto Haas stage transforms into the sweltering streets of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Upper Chichester Senior Citizens Club: meets the first and third Thursday of each month at the Community Services Building, 1950 Market St, Linwood. All residents of Upper Chichester aged 60 or over and their spouse, regardless of age, are welcome. Bingo will be played before our meetings at 11:30 a.m., meetings start at 1 p.m. Refreshments are served after our meetings. Day and night trips will be offered in 2022.
