More family fun – worth around $30 million – is coming to a Pigeon Forge water park.
The Country Cascades Waterpark Resort opened a seven-story River Tower on Tuesday that will add 91 new rooms. There are two other towers in the park with a total of 231 rooms.
The expansion of the water park will complete the commitment made by its owners, the Collier family, to invest $50 million in their Smoky Mountain tourism businesses.
River Tower is expected to open in the summer of 2023.
The new tower will feature a large mountain-themed lobby with a large stone fireplace, hot and take-out food, and mountain-themed rooms designed to accommodate up to six people.
Each room will have a dedicated area for children with an in-room scavenger hunt that leads to a treasure chest.
The expansion will also reimagine the existing campus and give the outdoor water park a “fun-ready new look.”
A new family entertainment center will include mini bowling, rock climbing, a VR arena and an arcade. It will add activities like story time and pajama dance parties.
