Rio Ferdinand raves about Casemiro after Tottenham win

Former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has again praised Casemiro after the Red Devils beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old has made his third successive Premier League start, and he’s been linked in midfield again by fellow Brazilian Fred.

The Selecao duo swarmed Spurs and Antonio Conte’s side couldn’t cope with the consistent intensity brought by Erik ten Hag’s side.

After being slowly integrated into the team, the ex-Real Madrid player is well and truly aware and has already established himself as a vital part of Ten Hag’s squad.

Rio Ferdinand raves about Casemiro

Since Casemiro became a Manchester United player, Ferdinand has regularly called for our number 18 to be thrown into the starting line-up.

But while the 65-time Brazil international had to patiently bide his time to become a regular due to Scott McTominay’s form alongside Christian Eriksen, Casemiro’s place in the starting lineup when form and appearance available were guaranteed.

The South American will likely play a crucial role again when Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to take on Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

Ferdinand believes Casemiro is the difference in United’s return to form and his arrival has finally given the Reds the balance we so badly needed and have needed for years.

No player from either team has earned more tackles than Casemiro (4), according to Who scored.

Casemiro had 71 touches and created two chances. He also won six ground duels and blocked a shot, as well as an interception.

Manchester United finally have a world-class defensive midfielder to glue the team together, and it looks like Ten Hag has managed to land arguably the best midfielder on the planet right now.
